RESTITUTIO AD INTEGRUM – LORAND GASPAR AND THE TRANSYLVANIAN LEGACY PROJECT UEFISCDI PN-IV-P2-2.1-TE-2023-0108

RESLOG aims to investigate and recover essential information about Lorand Gaspar’s Transylvanian experience through an interdisciplinary, historical, and literary approach. The project seeks to promote his work in Romanian and Hungarian, thus facilitating access for the community in his native country to an author who remains relatively unknown in Romania despite his international recognition. At the same time, the project aims to disseminate the results of the scientific research on his Transylvanian identity within the Francophone sphere—an aspect often overlooked in studies dedicated to Gaspar.

RESLOG is an interdisciplinary project that employs research and investigative methods specific to the fields of literature and history. Recent studies have focused on these interdisciplinary concerns, aimed to better contextualize literary works and enhance their significance from a historical perspective. Notable examples include the *Encyclopedia of Imaginaries from Romania* (Iași, Polirom, 2020) and the workshop titled *History and Literature: The Model of an Ever-Relevant Interdisciplinarity,* organized by Babeș-Bolyai University and the University of Bucharest. This historical approach investigates the Transylvanian region during the interwar period through a comparative analysis that highlights the identity dilemmas faced by the Hungarian community in Greater Romania. By examining historical sources such as press articles, memoirs, and other materials, the project aims to outline the socio-cultural context that shaped Lorand Gaspar’s development. This historical perspective will help identify key elements that provide a conceptual framework for understanding the poet’s artistic personality and his body of work in context.
